Welcome to the Magnolia church of Christ Web page!
We extend an open invitation to you to come and be with us any
time you have the opportunity. If you would like more information
about the Lord's church in Magnolia, please ask any one of our
members.
We are a non-denominational, fundamental,
Bible-believing, -teaching and -practicing congregation of God's
people. The church family here includes people from all walks
of life. We are committed to training children, teenagers and
adults to walk in God's way as revealed in the Bible. We believe
in calling Bible things by Bible names and doing Bible things
in Bible ways. The only authority we have for spiritual guidance
is the Bible, and we have no creed but Christ. We want to generate
a church ministry that is biblically centered, culturally relevant,
soul-uplifting and God-honoring. We want our lives to demonstrate
to others how grateful we are that God has made us His children.
Give us an opportunity to show you a caring, friendly, loving
congregation of the Lord's people.
The Bible teaches us that we are to minister
to the spiritual and physical needs of others - (Luke 10:9).
Through our ministry and outreach we strive to serve the needs
of our members and those in our community who desire and deserve
our help. We care about you and your family; your spiritual and
physical welfare are important to God and to us. After all, life
is to be enjoyed, not merely endured! Jesus said...
"I came that they
may have life, and have it abundantly." - (John 10:10).
The psalmist asked a question that everyone
should consider: "If the foundations are destroyed, what
can the righteous do?" - (Psalm 11:3). We believe there
is something the righteous can do when everything around us seems
to be crashing to the ground. We can stand on the solid foundation
of the word of God. Therefore, we believe that we need no book
other than the Bible, and that it is the final authority in all
religious matters. The Bible and it alone is all we need to be
everything God wants and intends for us to be. It is all-sufficient
to provide man's every spiritual need and to fully equip us to
be God's workmen and workwomen. Therefore, we should not add
a single word to nor remove a single word from that sacred volume.
The scriptures state the truth of the all-sufficiency of the
Bible in several instances. Consider these passages...
"You shall not add
to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it,
that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which
I command you."
(Deuteronomy 4:2).
"Do not add to His
words lest He reprove you, and you be proved a liar."
(Proverbs 30:6).
"To the law and to
the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it
is because they have no dawn." - (Isaiah 8:20).
"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that
the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
(2 Timothy 3:16, 17).
"I testify to everyone
who hears the words of the prophecy of this book; if anyone adds
to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in
this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book
of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree
of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book."
(Revelation 22:18, 19).
Believing and accepting the truth of the
all-sufficiency of the Bible will enable all of us to draw closer
to God in our personal lives and to be winners in a turbulent
world - (1 John 5:4). Even if your world is crumbling around
you, this truth remains constant: the word of God is our sword
and shield and a sure and solid foundation against the storms
of life - (Matthew 7:24-27). And so, because of this, when you
visit our Bible classes and assemblies you will find that the
Bible alone is our authority and the basis of every teaching;
it, and it alone, is our pattern for daily Christian living.
We believe in offering a "thus saith the Lord" for
our every belief and practice. We also believe this appeals to
our world at large; and we hope it will be appealing to you.
Striving to be non-denominational, the
focus of the Magnolia church of Christ is on God's saving work
in the death, burial, resurrection and exaltation of His Son
Jesus Christ. This marvelous message of grace, love, life and
hope is for everyone who will surrender and yield in faith (Hebrews
11:6), repentance (Acts 17:30), confession (Romans 10:10) and
immersion, or baptism, for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38)
and accept the Lordship of Jesus in their lives.
The Lord has a fabulous plan for your life!
You are important! Come and worship Him with us. Exciting things
are happening with the Magnolia church of Christ and we would
love to have you be a part of those good things.
